Arthur Arnold (Arnel) Continental Line Soldier died in late 1784 reportedly at 6 mile creek. I'd like to find info on that battle and info on Arthur Arnold's enlistment papers, showing DOB and where, address ( Probate was done in Craven County), wife, children, beneficiary etc

Wayne. Hope this finds you well. Were you able to uncover any further info on Arthur Arnold (Arnel)? I believe Arthur had a son (James Arnold 1768-1807) born in Craven, North Carolina according to an 1850 Census record. Have more info if you are still interested, Craig
Hello,
Hello,
Our library is closed right now due to COVID-19 and we probably will be for some time. Our library does have a lot of books on the Revolutionary War, different battles, soldiers, etc. but for the time, we are all working at home and do not have access.
The main suggestion I have until we are open again is to check Fold3. It might not have all the details you are looking for, but should at least give you an age rather than date of birth - there were no birth records back then so very difficult to find the actual date they were born. Most military records will give an age at the time of enlistment. It's a subscription site, but some libraries give remote access. If you live in NC, you can apply for a library card at our library and get remote access to that database and others. Our library card application is located at https://statelibrary.ncdcr.gov/ghl/services/library-card.
