N Jackson County between Locust Creek and Cane Creek.

Hepco

former community on Waterville Lake (in Pigeon River), central Haywood County. Alt. 2,298. Was site of Haywood Electric Power Company development; the name came from the initials of the company. Now abandoned.

Herald Mountain

N Wilkes County between the head of Bee Tree Branch and Cane Creek. Named for the Harrold family, early settlers on Bee Tree Branch.

Herbert Stamp

peak in NE Clay County between Tipton Branch and Tate Branch.

Herbin's Creek

rises in SE Rockingham County and flows SW into Haw River. Known as High Rock Creek as early as 1754; renamed about 1800 for John and William Herbin, local landowners.

Herds Creek

rises in E Moore County and flows S into Crains Creek. Named for Charles Herd, who settled at its mouth about 1760.
