Harricane

community in N Wake County. For many years the area was notorious for its distillers. The name came from a hurricane that struck the section in 1805, causing extensive damage.

Harrington

community in W Harnett County. Cornwallis camped there en route to Wilmington following the Battle of Guilford Courthouse. A post office was est. there, 1855. John McLean Harrington edited and published a handwritten newspaper there, 1858-60.
