Figure Eight Island |
E New Hanover and Pender Counties between Middle Sound and the Atlantic Ocean and extending from Mason Inlet on the S to Rich Inlet on the n. In 1965 work was begun to develop the island into a private gated resort community. A 260-foot causeway and a bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway connect it with the mainland. |
