Place Description
Bell Collar Cove

on Shining Creek in S Haywood County.

Bell Coney Mountain

on the E end of Lizzy Mountain in central Jackson County. Alt. 4,349.

Bell Cove

site of early settlement on the E end of Bogue Banks, S Carteret County. Name is taken from the fact that a bell in the local church was rung for services. Storms drove out early settlers until settlement of Salter Path, which see.

Bell Creek

rises in N Cherokee County and flows SE into Garreck Creek.

Bell Knob

on the Clay-Macon county line.

Bell Mountain

S Cherokee County between Raminger Creek and Cane Creek.

Bell Point

peninsula off N Pamlico County extending into Bay River.

Bell River

is formed in S Alexander County where Glade Creek enters Lower Little River. It flows S approx. 1½ mi. into Catawba River. Local usage applies the name to Lower Little River S from a point about midway between the mouths of Muddy Fork and Spring Creeks, where N.C. Highway 90 crosses Lower Little River.

Bell Swamp

rises in E Onslow County and flows SE and NE into Queens Creek. Probably named for George Bell, who owned land there as early as 1713.
