town in N Gaston County. Inc. 1899, but long inactive in municipal affairs. Formerly known as Alex's Cross Roads for a man named Alexander who owned land there.

Alfordston

town authorized to be laid off and inc. 1793 on land of Thomas Matthews. Site approx. 1 mi. S of Carthage, central Moore County. The town was never laid off.

community in W Robeson County. A post office operated there from 1800 to 1922.
