Rugged mountainsides in Nepal

On the trail between Tukche and Kagbeni, Nepal, an arid and rocky mountainside rises above the Kali Gandaki River. This region lies on the northern side of the Himalayan region and sees very little rainfall during the year, as a result, vegetation in this area is sparse. This region is famous for "flying rocks" — winds here can be strong enough to carry rocks across the river.
