Rose O'Neal Greenhow

Portrait of Rose O'Neal Greenhow, a Confederate spy during the Civil War, and her daughter, "Little Rose." This photgraph was taken at the Old Capital Prison where Greenhow was imprisoned for her spying from January to May 1862. Greenhow was released from prison in May of 1862 and exiled to the South, where she was well received.
