A small house is nestled on the shoreline of a lake. Steep, grass-covered hills rise from the lake.Ecuador in a geographically-diverse country. The coastline on the west and the rainforest on the east is divided by the tall Andes mountains. The highlands in the middle of the country are dotted with towns both large and small that retain much of the traditional customs of the Quechua-speaking peoples.
