Banjo 1850-1890

This banjo is missing its pegs and strings, and is made of wood and metal. The banjo was owned by North Carolinian, Joseph John Andwerson who served in the Civil War with the 31st NCT.

Banjos lives on today in folk music, African American music, and country music as you can see in the North Carolina Folk Music Festival, and the music group, Carolina Chocolate Drops.
