Historical Marker: Tryon Mountain

This is an image of the Tryon Mountain Historical Highway Marker located in Polk County, N.C.  Tryon Mountain was a landmark on the boundary between the Cherokee lands and the North Carolina colony. The boundary was negotiated by North Carolina's colonial Governor William Tryon and Cherokee chiefs in 1767.

Public Domain

Public Domain is a copyright term that is often used when talking about copyright for creative works. Under U.S. copyright law, individual items that are in the public domain are items that are no longer protected by copyright law.
