Trent Woodstown in central Craven County on Trent River S of New Bern. Inc. 1959.
Trentontown and county seat, central Jones County. Courthouse apparently est. at the site in or soon after 1779, when the county was formed. Apparently known as Trent until 1784, when a town to be known as Trenton was authorized to be laid off at the site of the courthouse. Inc. 1874. Took its name from the Trent River, on which it is located. Alt. 28.
