Mon Swampin SE Tyrrell County.
Monbocommunity in E Catawba County on Catawba River. Named Mont Beau by the owner of a local cotton mill, but residents of the area soon corrupted the name into its present form. See also East Monbo.
Moncurecommunity in SE Chatham County on Deep River. A post office est. there in 1877. Inc. 1905; charter repealed1935. Named for Thomas Jefferson Moncure, civil engineer, who built the railroad station. The former town of Haywood is immediately SE of Moncure.
Mondine Branchrises in S Jones County and flows S into White Oak River. Probably named for the Mundine family, early settlers.
