St. Andrew's ParishChurch of England, Tyrrell County, est. 1729 with the formation of the county and coextensive with it. Previous to the formation of the county, the territory had been South Shore Parish (est. 1722), Chowan County. In 1767 St. Andrew's Parish had 594 white taxables. See also St. Paul's Parish.
