| Farrar | former town in central Edgecombe County on the SW limits of Tarboro and now wholly within Tarboro. The name West Tarboro was changed to Hilma in 1893, when it was inc. Name changed from Hilma to Farrar, 1899, probably for O. C. Farrar, who purchased land in Tarboro for a cotton mill. Charter repealed 1909. |
