State Library of North Carolina
Free educator resources from NCpedia, the encyclopedia of all things North Carolina. Includes lesson plans, activities, printable bookmarks, NC "Fast Facts," and ways to incorporate NCpedia into the curriculum. Also listservs, booklists, and programming information from the Youth Services Consultant in the SLNC Library Development Section.

State Archives of North Carolina
The Division of Archives and Records has a vast collection of primary resource materials which can be used in education, including diaries, maps, letters, memoirs, photographs, and government records. Many of these materials are available through our online resources and can be aligned to national and state teaching standards.

North Carolina Aquariums
Explore Fort Fisher's climate change curriculum, as well as lesson plans, instructor's guides, and other resources about sea turtles.

NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Sciences
Includes resources for teachers and students at all levels, from activity pages and coloring sheets to information about NC's top agricultural commodities and food fact sheets. Also includes an agritourism directory to find local farm field trip destinations.

NC Department of Environmental Quality
Resources for teachers and students for Air, Water, Stormwater, Recycling and Geology. Includes lesson plans and activities for grades K-12.

NC Department of Transportation
The N.C. Department of Transportation's Education Initiatives Program works to advance a wide range of programs and activities that focus heavily on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) – beginning in kindergarten and all the way to graduate school.

North Carolina Historic Sites
Many of the NC Historic Sites have associated educator resources, which may range from guided activities to use in conjunction with a site visit to virtual tours to activities or discussions which can be completed without visiting in person.

NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources

North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences
The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences offers natural history programs, workshops and trips. Use the Museum's learning resources and online adventures to expand your natural science knowledge during a Museum visit, at home, in the field and in the classroom.

North Carolina State Fair
Includes printable coloring pages, a scavenger hunt, a State Fair timeline, field trip information, and details on how to order the 2021 State Fair Newspapers in Education supplement.

North Carolina Symphony
The North Carolina Symphony leads the most extensive music education program of any symphony orchestra and provides training and resources for teachers in alignment with the curriculum set by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission
Learn more about North Carolina’s wildlife and habitats by signing up for classes or workshops, visiting an education center or checking out videos and publications on a number of wildlife-related topics.

The North Carolina Court System
Lessons, Activities and Educational Programs (LEAP) About the North Carolina Judicial System for Teachers has been created by the Community Access and Outreach division to assist teachers in educating students about the North Carolina and Mecklenburg County court system. Each lesson plan specifies a corresponding competency goal or objective as determined by the North Carolina State Board of Education. These resources have primarily been focused to those students taking the courses tenth grade Civics and Economics and Contemporary Law and Justice.

North Carolina Museum of Art: NCMALearn
Includes resources, lesson plans, and more in a range of disciplines, including dance, drama, English language arts, history, math, physical education, science, social studies, STEM, technology, visual arts, and world languages. Lesson plans include assessments, resources, related content, and information about the work of art.

North Carolina Museum of History: For Educators
Includes a variety of offerings structured to provide students with meaningful experiences in North Carolina history that are directly linked to the North Carolina Common Core and Essential Standards, and a quarterly newsletter specifically geared toward educators.

North Carolina State Parks
Environmental education learning experiences (EELEs) are correlated to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. Competency goals in science, social studies, mathematics and English/language arts are explored. Each program includes pre-visit, on-site and post-visit student activities that have measurable objectives, background information, vocabulary, references and step-by-step activity instructions.

North Carolina Zoo
Includes K-12 educator resources organized by grade level, resources for homeschoolers, teacher & professional development information, and information on field trips and "Zoo To You" programs.

Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art: Learn at SECCA
Lesson plans range from grades pre-K to college and give educators and students ways to incorporate contemporary art into the classroom.

Green 'N' Growing: The History of Home Demonstration and 4-H Youth Development in North Carolina
The site presents thousands of images and textual materials that document the history of 4-H and Home Demonstration in North Carolina from the 1900s to the 1970s. Users will also find a timeline of events, a collection of original historical essays, an annotated bibliography, and guides for primary resources held by the North Carolina State University Special Collections Research Center.

NCSU 4-H: Resources for Educators
Resources created to support 4-H professionals and volunteers. 4-H curriculum is the link between youth in Cooperative Extension programs and the research-based knowledge from the land grant university system.

NCSU ASSIST Wearable Device Challenge: Lesson Plans
Lesson plans for middle school and high school students. Includes math, science, agriculture, biology, health, technology, and more.

NCSU Center for Human Health and the Environment: Resources for K-12 Educators
Resources from other universities and institutions that have been working to promote science education and outreach with classroom teachers, helping to make even the youngest North Carolinians more aware of environmental health topics. Existing resources include Air Quality, Environmental Education, Water Quality, Citizen Science, and more.

NCSU Special Collections Research Center: Teacher Resources
Includes learning guides focusing on a particular topic and time period relating to North Carolina. In each guide are the grade level they are intended to be used for and the Common Core standards it matches with. Also includes lesson plans developed in partnership with the College of Education and NCSU Libraries. They include primary resources, background information, classroom activities, and links to the Common Core.

UNC Ackland Art Museum: Teacher Resources
For K-12 teachers: services, materials, and advice to help discover the best ways to support teaching with art.

UNC American Indian Center: Educator Resources
Resources on culturally appropriate instruction for Native students in particular, as well as information about culturally responsive instruction applicable to a broad variety of students.

UNC Carolina K-12: Database of Resources
This searchable database includes lesson plans aligned to the NC Essential Standards, as well as activities for use in school, after school and extra-curricular settings.

UNC World View: K12 Resources
Includes a database of searchable educator resources, world view educator lesson plans, and information about foreign currency kits available for educators to borrow.
