Fourth Creek | rises in W Iredell County and flows E into Rowan County, where Third and Fourth Creeks join before entering South Yadkin River. It is the fourth creek in a series of creeks crossed by early settlers from Salisbury. The name appears on the Collet map, 1770. A settlement on the creek about 1750 later became the city of Statesville, which grew up around Fourth Creek (Presbyterian) Church. |
