Clinton | former town in SE Davie County (then Rowan) at the junction of South Yadkin and North Yadkin Rivers. Inc. 1818 by Yadkin Navigation Co. About 100 lots were sold before a panic in 1819 stopped work at the site. A post office existed there in 1822, but the town was abandoned soon afterward. |
