Jerome Bog	a pocosin on the Bladen-Cumberland county line E of the community of Jerome. An almost perfect elliptical shape with its long axis running NW-SE, it is an ancient lake now filled with peat. See also Carolina Bays.

Jerry Bald	N Swain County in Great Smoky Mountains National Park at the NE end of Jerry Bald Ridge. Alt. 5,080.
Jerry Bald Ridge	N Swain County in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, a spur extending SE from Andrews Bald on Forney Ridge between Mill Creek and Noland Creek.
Jerry Branch	rises in W Transylvania County and flows SW into West Fork French Broad River.
Jerry Creek	rises in W Avery County and flows E into Roaring River. Named for Jerry Hughes, an early settler.
Jerry Knob	central Haywood County between Jones Cove and Liner Cove.
Jerry Mountain	NE Caldwell County.
Jersey Settlement	former community on the E bank of Yadkin River near present Linwood, which see, in W Davidson County (formerly Rowan). So called because settlers in the 1750s arrived from New Jersey. A post office by the name existed as late as 1830.
Jerusalem	former community in S Davie County. In 1815 a union church was organized there, erected on land given by Nicholas Click, and named New Jerusalem. By the 1830s a community was growing up around the church; a post office est. in 1850 was called Jerusalem. Church still active (Baptist), but the community has ceased to exist as such. Alt. 787.
