Long's Store	community in N Union County.
Longarm Mountain	N Haywood County, extends NE from the head of Dogwood Flats Creek to the head of Stinking Camp Creek.
Longhurst	community in central Person County. Settled about 1890 and known first as Jalong for J. A. Long Sr., who est. a cotton mill there. Post office est. there in 1913; name changed to Longhurst in 1936.
Longleaf	community in NW Moore County served by post office, 1886-1906.
Longs Delight	appears on the Ogilby map, 1671, near the upper portion of the Cape Fear River. It was a name assigned probably for Capt. Anthony Long, member of an expedition led by Capt. William Hilton in 1663 to explore the lower Cape Fear region. See also Lockwoods Folly Inlet.
Longs Island	name applied on the Ogilby map, 1671, to the land now in NW New Hanover County between the Brunswick and Cape Fear Rivers N of Eagles Island. The peninsula was formerly an island when Fishing Creek flowed between the two rivers. See also Longs Delight.
Longs Store	community in W Person County.
Longs Store	community in N central Rutherford County.
Longshoals	community in S Lincoln County on South Fork Catawba River. Settled prior to 1901. Named for shoals in the river. Alt. 732.
