Harrisonformer community in S Mecklenburg County, was visited by George Washington, May 28, 1791. Harrison Methodist Church there was organized about 1785 and named for Harrison Hood, donor of the site. With the development of Pineville, 3 mi. w, after 1873, Harrison began to decline.
