Creedmoortown in SW Granville County. Founded about 1840 by Thomas Lyon. Inc. 1895 as Creedmore; reincorporated 1905 as Creedmoor. Appears as Creedmoor in an 1887 atlas. Said to have been called "Need More" in the earliest days of the community but, with its growth, a more dignified name was desired. Until 1960 "mule capital of North Carolina" because of market for farm animals. Produces apparel.
Creedmoor LakeSE Granville County on Ledge Creek. Formed in 1939 as a source of water for the town of Creedmoor and for recreation. Covers 100 acres. Also called Lake Rogers. Max. depth 30 ft.
Creeds Hill Coast Guard Stationformerly on S Hatteras Island, SE Dare County. First formed as a lifesaving station in 1878-79, it became a Coast Guard Station in 1915 but has since been deactivated.
Creekcommunity in S Warren County on Fishing Creek. Settled prior to 1800. Post office located there, 1883-1930.
