Chuckle	community in N Wilkes County near East Prong Roaring River.
Chum Creek	rises in NE Rutherford County and flows S into Duncans Creek.
Chunky Gal Mountain	SE Clay County, extending SE from Riley Knob to Big Laurel. Alt. 4,986. Named by slim Indian maidens who delighted in the capture (by her father) of a heavyset Indian lass who had run away to marry a young brave against her family's wishes.
Chunky Pipe Creek	rises in central Durham County and flows E into Little Lick Creek.
Chunn Cove	central Buncombe County near the headwaters of Ross Creek.

Church Branch	rises in central Clay County and flows S between Matlock Creek and Moores Branch into Tusquitee Creek.
Church Island	a peninsula in E Currituck County extending into Currituck Sound. Coinjock Bay lies between its W shore and the mainland of the county. It is 5 mi. long, 1 mi. wide. Shown as Emperors Island on the Comberford map, 1657; as White Island on the Ogilby map, 1671; and as Church Island on the Moseley map, 1733. The W portion of the peninsula is known as Piney Island.
Churchill	community in NE Warren County. Post office est. there in 1884 but discontinued in 1905.
