Tuscarora	community in W Craven County. Settled 1825. Named for the Indians who formerly lived in the area. Alt. 39.
Tuscarora Beach	summer resort in E Hertford County near the town of Winton on Chowan River. Originally a Tuscarora Indian village; settled about 1710 by John Cotton of Virginia and known as Cotton's Crossing as late as 1759, when it was authorized to be laid out as the county seat. Later known as Old Barfields and Barfields.
